To accommodate a major track construction project on Metra’s Union Pacific West Line, midday service on some UP West trains will originate and terminate at West Chicago on Sunday, July 14.

Two inbound trains that normally depart from Elburn at 10:25 a.m. and 12:25 p.m., will instead originate at West Chicago, departing at 10:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.

Two outbound trains scheduled to depart Ogilvie at 8:40 a.m. and 10:40 a.m. will terminate at West Chicago, meaning they will not make their normal stops at Geneva, La Fox and Elburn.

The changes are needed to accommodate a major project to add a third track to the line between West Chicago and Geneva.
