Metra Alert MD-N - Forest Glen Platform Rehabilitation

Beginning Monday, July 8, the south half of the platforms, the south stairways, and the inbound shelter will be closed for rehabilitation for 2 months. Commuters must use the north stairways to access the boarding platforms. 

Once completed, the work will move to the north half of the platforms to complete the project by the end of October. Please allow additional time to access the in-service platforms and exercise caution near the work zones. 

Metra Alert MD-N - Milwaukee North Line Late Evening Service Modified Friday, July 26 - Construction Project

On Friday evening, July 26, outbound trains #2157 and #2159 on the Milwaukee North line will not operate beyond Prairie Crossing due to planned track construction. Pace buses will be available at the Grayslake station making all stops for passengers between Grayslake and Fox Lake during the track outage. Click here for schedule information. 

Metra Alert MD-N - Milwaukee North Schedule Modification Saturday and Sunday, July 27-28 - Track Construction

On Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28, a portion of the Milwaukee North line will be shut down due to track work from Grayslake through Fox Lake. This will affect several trains.  Shuttle buses will make all Metra stops from Fox Lake through Grayslake to accommodate passengers for trains #2600 and #2602.  At Grayslake passengers will transfer to their train that will make all scheduled stops to Chicago. 

On Saturday evening, July 27, trains #2625 and #2627 will make all scheduled stops to Grayslake. At Grayslake shuttle buses will be waiting for passengers and will make all stops from Grayslaake through Fox Lake. Click here for schedule information.

Metra Alert UP-W - Geneva Platform 2 Rehabilitation

On Monday, October 9, the Geneva outbound platform (Platform 2) will be closed for rehabilitation through the end of 2024. Commuters must use the temporary platform located east of Third Street. All trains will board passengers from the rear cars on this platform. Please allow additional time to access the in-service platform and exercise caution near the work zones.

Metra Alert UP-W - River Forest Platform 2 Rehabilitation

Beginning Wednesday, May 8, the east half of Platform 2 (island platform) will be closed for rehabilitation. Once completed, the work will move to the west half of Platform 2 to complete the project by the end of November.

Please allow additional time to access the in-service platform and exercise caution near the work zones.

Metra Alert UP-W - Friday, July 26, Union Pacific West late trains #70, #72, #73, and #11 will not operate - Track Construction

Friday, July 26, the last two Union Pacific West inbound trains (#70 & #72), as well as outbound trains (#73 & #11), will not operate due to continued work on a major track construction project. Click here for schedule information.

BNSF#1272 operational change
BNSF train #1272 schedule to arrive Chicago Union Station at 5:12 pm, will express from Downers Grove-Main Street to Cicero due to earlier problems with dispatching department. Train #1274, the next train to accommodate passengers at intermediate stops.

MED #342 Scheduled to arrive Millennium Station at 9:12 P.M. is currently back on the move and operating 30 to 35 minutes behind schedule due to track construction.

The Van Buren Michigan Avenue Elevator
The Van Buren Street Michigan Avenue elevator is out of service. Customers can use South Water as alternate boarding stations. Updates will be provided.
Ivanhoe Elevator Out of Service
The Ivanhoe elevator is out of service. Customers can use Kensington or Harvey as alternate boarding stations. Updates will be provided.
ME The Van Buren Street Station elevator is out of service.

Metra Alert ME - 147th St./Sibley Blvd station closed for reconstruction until late summer 2024

The 147th street/Sibley Blvd station is closed for reconstruction until late summer 2024. During this time, trains will not stop at this station. As alternates, please use the nearby Ivanhoe or Harvey stations. Updates will be provided once the rehabilitation is complete and the station is accessible. Metra apologizes for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

The Homewood Platform elevator is out of service until further notice. Alternative accessible locations are the Flossmoor station and Calumet station.

The Millennium Station elevator is out of service until further notice.  Customers can use the elevator located at 205 N Michigan, which leads to the South Water entrance to Millennium Station
