Metra Alert MD-N - Milwaukee Avenue closing at Kilbourn for Metra bridge replacement project
Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 7, Milwaukee Avenue will be closed at Kilbourn Avenue for the remainder of the year as part of Metra’s project to replace the bridge over the roadway and rebuild the Grayland Station. Southeast-bound vehicular traffic on Milwaukee Avenue will be rerouted south on Cicero Avenue and east on Addison Street back to Milwaukee Avenue. Northwest-bound traffic will be diverted west on Addison and north on Cicero to Milwaukee. Bicycle and pedestrian traffic will be rerouted along Addison Street and Kilbourn Avenue, and protected bike lanes will be erected on Addison during the closure.

Metra Alert MD-N - Lake-Cook Road commuter parking lot will begin resurfacing from October 1 to October 3.

Workers will begin resurfacing the Lake-Cook Road commuter parking lot on Saturday, October 1, 2022.  The project is expected to be completed by Monday, October 3, 2022. Parking will exist throughout the duration of the project and ADA spaces will be relocated to the north side of the station.  We expect a full reopening of the parking lot on Tuesday, October 4.

Metra Alert BNSF - Brainard Avenue, Crossing Closed Temporarily from October 6 to October 16
From 9 a.m. October 6 through 5 p.m. October 16, the Brainard Avenue, railroad crossing will be temporarily closed for a rehabilitation. Brainard Avenue is adjacent to the Stone Avenue Metra Station and serves as the pedestrian crossing for the stations. BNSF will have personnel on-site to assist in redirecting pedestrians to the next available crossing at Kensington Avenue. Metra customers are advised to allow extra travel time and exercise caution near the work zones.

Metra Alert - Blue Island-Vermont St. Depot Rehabilitation
Beginning April 19th through October 2022, the depot will be closed for restoration work. A temporary ticket agent trailer will be provided north of the existing depot. Metra thanks you for your patience as we make these station improvements. Please do not go around barricades and allow yourself additional time to reach your boarding platform safely.

The Windsor Park station is temporarily ADA inaccessible due to platform construction. Recommended alternative accessible locations are South Shore and Cheltenham/79th street. Metra will provide updated information once this station is accessible.

The VanBuren St elevator is temporarily out of service. Recommended alternative accessible locations are Millennium Station and Museum Campus - 11th St. Metra will provide updated information once service has been restored.
