Take Metra to Chosen Few Picnic and Festival

The 35th Annual Chosen Few Picnic and Festival in Jackson Park is the place to be on Saturday, July 12, 2025, and the Metra Electric Line is the way to get there.

The Chosen Few Picnic and Festival started as a small gathering of friends behind the Griffin Museum of Science & Industry in 1990 and is now the world’s longest-running event dedicated to Chicago-born house music, culture, and community. The festival attracts more than 40,000 fans each year and features more than 12 hours of music from DJs and guest performers.

The 63rd Street Station on the Metra Electric Line is just steps away from the entrance to Jackson Park for the easiest, most affordable and stress-free way to get to the festival. Riding Metra helps attendees avoid traffic congestion, surge pricing on rideshare services, and limited parking near the festival grounds.

Riders should consider buying Metra’s $7 Saturday Day Pass, which allows for unlimited travel on Metra all day until 3 a.m. Sunday. If they’re making connections to or from the CTA or Pace, they can also purchase the new Regional Day Pass via the Ventra app for an additional $2.50. To make it an even better deal, either pass can be used in conjunction with Metra’s Family Fares, which allow up to three children 11 and under to ride for free with a fare-paying adult.
