Everyone loves a parade

If you had the pleasure of attending the springlike Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade downtown this year, or the winterlike South Side Irish Parade the very next day, we hope you caught Metra’s float at both events.

This is the second season for Metra’s participation in Chicago’s biggest parades. Our float and plenty of Metra volunteers will also be at the LaGrange Pet Parade, Chicago Pride Parade, Bud Billiken Parade, Mexican Independence Day Parade, and Magnificent Mile Lights Festival.

Participating in the parades send the message the Metra is part of the community – part of lots of communities, in fact. For the same reason, Metra has also been participating in other local events, such as Oak Park’s annual Brewfest, Bike the Drive, Chosen Few Picnic & Festival, and Park Ridge Market After Dark, as well as forming partnerships with other Chicago institutions, such as the Pullman Foundation/National Historical Park, Christkindlmarket, and Joffrey Ballet.

It’s part of a marketing effort that seeks to reinforce our brand as a safe, reliable, economical, and easy way to travel. The more we spread that word, the more people will give us a try, and stick with us for future travel.
