Dine By Your Line: Simone's

SIMONE’S
960 W. 18TH ST.
CHICAGO, IL 60608

For this issue of Dine by Your Line, we’re taking you to Halsted Street Station on the BNSF Line for some good drinks, killer food, and even some groovy tunes. Welcome to Simone’s— a Pilsen favorite that has been serving locals for the past 12 years.

“Simone’s is a twist on the traditional name Simeon which means hearkening — as in ‘one who hears.’ We were always passionate about opening a venue that ‘hears’ the community,” said owner Desiree Grant.

Committed to serving up A+ drinks and food, the menu at Simone’s integrates typical bar food with classic Mexican ingredients—truly encapsulating the spirit of the neighborhood. Whether it’s their famous empanadas, portobello fries, or the impressive spicy duck burger, you’re sure to leave Simone’s satisfied.

“I love bringing out-of-towners to Simone’s. It’s a hidden gem and we always have such a great time. The staff is friendly, and it really feels like a neighborhood spot,” said regular Tori Maldonado.

The fun doesn’t stop at the food menu. Simone’s cocktail menu is truly something to revel at. Sip on a Mango Unchained, a perfect summer treat complete with mango vodka, mango nectar, chamoy, and a tajin rim. Or go wild with a Capri Spun—Simone’s adult take on the classic juice box made with tequila, guava nectar, dragon fruit, and lime.

On top of an incredible food and drink menu, Simone’s strives to give more to the community, making sure to remain 100% committed
to environmental action and accountability. From their fully compostable take-out containers to the bar made completely out of recycled materials, Simone’s practices what they preach. They even have their own herb garden and chicken, named Conchita, ensuring they use the freshest ingredients possible.

So, head down to Simone’s to get a (delicious) taste of Pilsen and sip on some summertime cocktails this season.
