The below dates indicate the duration of construction projects, NOT how long Metra intends to keep the alternate schedules in effect. To see which trains might be delayed by construction projects, look for the hardhat icon in the schedules for each line. 

BNSF: See below for effective construction dates

Effective April 1 until further notice: Weekday construction occurring between Western and Naperville. Midday trains with the helmet logo displayed underneath may be delayed up to 10 minutes.

Effective April 1 until further notice: Weekend construction occurring at the Cicero bridge. ALL weekend trains may experience delays up to 20 minutes.

Metra Electric: See below for effective construction dates

Effective April 1 until further notice: Weekday and weekend construction occurring for the 147th St. Sibley station rehabilitation and a tie gang. Weekday midday trains (In: 100, 214-130 / Out: 101, 215-165) may be delayed 15 minutes. Weekend midday trains (In: 800-828 / Out: 8301-829) may be delayed up to 20 minutes.

Effective April 8 until August 4: Weekday and weekend evening construction occurring between 11th Place and University Park. Evening weekday trains (In: 138-150 / Out: 345-153) may experience delays up to 30 minutes. Evening weekend trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed 20 minutes.

Milwaukee District North: See below for effective construction dates

Effective April 1 until further notice: Weekday and weekend construction occurring near Grayland. Weekday and weekend midday trains (including train 2618) with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed up to 10 minutes.

Milwaukee District West: See below for effective construction dates

Effective March 25 until further notice: Weekday construction occurring near Wood Dale for a platform renewal. Weekday midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed up to 10 minutes.

Effective June 29 through July 2: Weekend and weekday construction near Oak Park to Sayre Ave. track work. Weekend and weekday midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may experience delays up to 15 minutes.

North Central Service: See below for effective construction dates

Effective July 1 through July 2: Weekday construction near Oak Park to Sayre Ave. track work. Weekday midday trains (In: 112-114 / Out: 105-107) may experience delays up to 15 minutes.

Rock Island: See below for effective construction dates

Effective March 18 until further notice: Weekday and weekend construction occurring between Gresham and Mokena. Weekday midday trains (In: 414-628 / Out: 605-619) may be delayed up to 15 minutes. Weekend trains (In: 202-122 / Out: 205-221) may be delayed up to 15 minutes.

Union Pacific North: See below for effective construction dates

Effective June 3 through July 5: Weekday construction occurring between Highland Park to Winthrop Harbor. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may experience delays up to 25 minutes. Due to this construction, weekday trains (323, 334, 338, 327) may also experience delays up to 35 minutes.

Effective June 29 through June 30: Weekend construction occurring between Lake Bluff and Winthrop Harbor. Weekend trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may experience delays up to 30 minutes.

Union Pacific Northwest: See below for effective construction dates

Effective May 28 through July 5: Weekday track maintenance occurring between Crystal Lake to Woodstock. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may experience delays up to 20 minutes.

Effective June 29: Saturday construction occurring between Cary and Crystal Lake. Saturday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may experience delays up to 20 minutes.
