BNSF Construction Summary Oct. 26 – Sunday, Oct. 28

The BNSF will have  a large tie gang working between Highlands and Eola to replace 18,000 ties on the center track. The work will begin on Friday evening, Oct. 26  and continue through late Sunday evening, Oct. 28.


 Various trains will be annulled, be rescheduled, or expect delays during the project window. Specific service implication details are below:


Friday, Oct. 26 – Annulled Trains:


1294 – Departs Downers Grove at 8:19 p.m.; arrives Chicago Union Station (CUS) at 9:07 p.m.

1298 – Departs Aurora at 10:15 p.m.; arrives CUS at 11:29 p.m.

1295 – Departs CUS at 9:40 p.m.; arrives Aurora at 10:57 p.m.

299 – Departs CUS at 11:41 p.m.; arrives Aurora at 12:57 a.m.


Friday, Oct. 26 – Adjusted Departures:

1296 – Will depart at 8:50 p.m. – 29 minutes later than regularly scheduled. Will arrive at CUS at 10:24 p.m. 15 minutes added to run time to accommodate construction.


1324 – Will depart at 11:45 p.m.– 32 minutes later than regularly scheduled. Will arrive at CUS at 1:16 a.m.. 15 minutes added to run time to accommodate construction.

1293 – Will depart at 9:00 p.m. – 20 minutes later than regularly scheduled. Will arrive at Aurora at 10:43 p.m.. 15 minutes added to run time to accommodate construction.


1297 – Will depart CUS as regularly scheduled. 15 minutes added to run time to accommodate construction zones.


1325 – Will depart CUS at 1:15 a.m. – 30 minutes later than regularly scheduled. Will arrive at Aurora at 2:47 a.m.. 15 minutes added to run time to accommodate construction.


Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 27-28) – Schedule Adjustments

All trains subject to 10 minutes construction delay.

1323 – Will depart at 11:25 p.m.– 45 minutes later than regularly scheduled. Will arrive at Aurora at 12:55 a.m..

1329 – Will depart at 1:00 a.m. – 20 minutes later than regularly scheduled. Will arrive at Aurora at 2:26 a.m..
